"Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."
We are created by God to live life in authentic community. Dozens of times in Scripture,
followers of Jesus are taught to do the “one-anothers,” among them to love one another, pray
for one another, serve one another. We believe that belonging, caring, and growing spiritually
is lived out best in circles, not rows, and that’s why we do life together in small groups. This
G is where we go deep, where we pray together, encourage one another in difficult times, and
celebrate with one another in great times.
At Southview, we believe that the Christian life is best lived in community. The small groups
at Southview are always open. That means you don’t need to wait for a series to begin or end. You
are also not committed to a small group if you visit one to see what it’s like. We have a lot of
options for you. We’ve got community groups and study groups in different areas, so you can choose
one that meets closer to where you live. The groups will meet on different days and at different times, based on the members of the
group. The groups usually do 6-12 week studies, but you can join at any time. The small group experience will be a time of learning,
laughing, and living life together through the ups and downs.
Community Groups meet for a period of time to build relationships, study God's word and deepen their faith. The group may cover multiple subjects during its life.
Study Groups meet for a particular study, either a specific subject or a book of the Bible to deepen their understanding of God's word, encourage one another and pray for each other. The group may stay together to do another study once a particular study is complete.
